The pen comes with one fine black Schmidt 888 ink cartridge. Additional refills can be added for $3 each.

All of my pens come with a 4g container of wood conditioner. I recommend applying the conditioner once a week for the first month and at least once a month after in order to protect the wood. Less conditioner is required each time you apply it so a little goes a long way.
